Do you dream of working in radio? Want to get an idea of what goes on at a radio station? If so, Heart is giving you the opportunity to get some precious work experience in one of London's biggest radio stations.
Why apply for work experience?
You will get the opportunity to experience the working environment, meet some key people at Heart 106.2 and find out what and how we do things here. You will find out if a career in the radio industry is really for you, as well as learning about our business, people and culture. It’s an opportunity to develop new skills and enhance your CV.
What we offer, and what we’re looking for?
Work experience placements are unpaid and usually last a week. We receive hundreds of applications each year, so before you apply please think carefully about why you are applying; we are looking for people with a genuine interest in the radio industry who have something to bring to Heart 106.2. We’re looking for people who have a creative head on their shoulders and a passion for radio.

What happens after we have received your application?
Once we have received your application we will email / write to you to confirm we have received it. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to offer work experience to everyone. If you are successful and we are able to offer you work experience we will be in touch to organise a convenient time with you. You will need to cover your own travelling expenses.
Health & Safety
Due to Health & Safety considerations, you will need to be aged 16 or over to apply for work experience at Heart 106.2. If you are successful in securing a work experience placement then you be sent some paperwork to sign and also details of our Health & Safety policy. This needs to be returned before you start your placement.
Helpful Tips
• Try and gain experience in your area of interest by getting involved with your local radio station, hospital radio, community radio, university / college radio station.
• You will get recognised in this industry by showing passion, enthusiasm and willingness to do anything.
• Let your ambition shine and be proactive.
• Be willing and help out as much as you can. We do expect you to muck in with the team and help us out as much as possible.
• If you are taken to any creative meetings then feel free to contribute any ideas. We like people who speak up – this will get you noticed.
• Work experience is a very powerful tool in moving forward within the radio industry. Ask for feedback on your placement before you leave. You should ask for a reference, this will be good for future work experience or employment.
