Assassination thriller Vantage Point has topped the US box office.
However, Oscar nominees Juno and There Will Be Blood enjoyed solid sales ahead of the Academy Awards ceremony.
Three other films hit cinemas across America over the weekend, but were largely ignored by moviegoers with only one making the top ten - the Jack Black comedy Be Kind Rewind in at number seven.
Vantage Point replays the shooting of the US president from multiple points of view, earned an estimated $24 million in the three days since opening Friday.
In the movie, William Hurt plays the president while Dennis Quaid and Losts’s Matthew Fox play Secret Service agents in the feature directing debut of TV veteran Pete Travis.
