Your holiday should be the highlight of your year, but in a place with a different language and culture, it’s easy to get into a few problems.
However, just follow a few simple guidelines and you can avoid the common risks and dangers of travelling.
Get Covered
Make sure you get travel insurance that covers your destination. This will make sure that if you have anything stolen or get ill, then you can get help.
A Bit Of Needle
Some destinations may require you to get a vaccination at least six weeks before you go. Don’t skip these injections, as you will pay for it later!
Get a Good Guide
Do a bit of reading on the place you are visiting before you go. Learning the local laws and customs could help you out of a tricky spot. For example, did you know it’s illegal to drink near a church in Florence?
Don’t Pass Up Your Passport
Ensure you have a valid passport that is in good condition and the necessary visas for your trip.
Tell Everyone About It!
Make copies of your passport, insurance policy and ticket details. Leave these copies, along with your itinerary and contact details with family and friends.
Money, Money, Money
Make sure you take enough money for your trip. Take some back-up funds as well – such as travellers’ cheques, sterling or US dollars.
