Week 17

Check out what how your baby is developing this week: -

• By now the baby's sex organs are completely formed.
• The foetal kidneys produce lots of urine: the foetus wees about every 40-45 minutes (at least you don't have to change nappies yet). Icky though it may sound, the foetus takes in some of this wee when it swallows mouthfuls of amniotic fluid. But mose of the foetal waste products go through the placental membrane and into your circulation, where it's dealt with by your body's usual functions.
