What is it?
It's an official tie-in with the Olympic Games, but it's no usual sports game. Classic games characters Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog are bought back to life to compete in a series of sports events. Each sport utilises the Wii controller in different ways, involving
all kinds of waggling, flicking and spinning, but each is easy to get used to.
What's good?
With multiplayer games for up to four players, this is the perfect game to make your party go with a bang. But playing on your own can also be fun - and with all the ferocious Wiimote waggling, you'll feel like you've had a pretty good work-out! True sports fans may sneer, but what it lacks in realism, it makes up for in fun.
What's bad?
The quality of the sports is mixed - some are very easy, while others are very tricky to master. Graphics aren't close to PS3 standards, but they do have an entertaining cartoon quality.
Longevity
Only a few events are available at first, so you'll have to get good at those before others become available. That in itself is enough to keep you playing. Some may find some of the events too samey.
Rating - 8/10
Perfect for parties, good fun on your own.
