Eternal

Band Members: Easther and Vernie Bennett, Kéllé Bryan, Louise Nurding
Hometown: London
Biggest Hit Singles: I Wanna Be The Only One, number one, 1997, Don’t You Love Me, number three, 1997
Career Highlights: MOBO Award winners, Smash Hits Award

Sexy R&B girl group Eternal first hit the limelight with top five hit Stay back in 1993. They released their first album a year later called Always and Forever. It went on to sell over a million copies and led to a Best Group Award at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party and four Brit Award nominations.

In 1995, Louise left the band. All the tabloids said it was because she was the only white member and the group were looking to improve their chances of breaking the American market, but the band denied the rumour.

As Louise built a successful solo career, Eternal had more success with their second album Power of a Woman, giving them four Top 10 hits. In 1996, they were asked to sing the theme song for Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Someday.

In 1997 the group joined forces with US singer BeBe Winans to score their first - and only - UK chart-topper. It earned them a MOBO Award and Capital FM Award for Best Single.

Kéllé left the group in 1998, with another storm of scandal - she had been asked to leave by Easther and Vernie via a letter from their solicitor.

Kéllé recently took part in ITV's Love Island as one of 11 contestants, becoming runner-up in the show.
