James Blunt wants to retire in Ireland because Irish people have music in their blood.
The star has finished a month-long UK tour in Dublin before he begins a string of gigs in the US.
Speaking after performing at the city's RDS venue, he said: "Irish people have music in their blood. The audiences want to be part of it."
When asked if that he would consider retiring to Ireland, he replied: "Absolutely!"
Blunt has won two BRIT Awards and was nominated for five Grammy Awards in 2006.
He kicks off the US leg of his Lost Souls Tour in Seattle on Monday.
