Johnny Depp will walk the blood red carpet in London later for premiere of his new film, Sweeney Todd.

The 44-year-old star will be joined on the red carpet by Helena Bonham Carter and the film's director Tim Burton.

Sweeney Todd has already notched up Golden Globe nominations for best actor, actress, director and picture. The movie is an adaptation of a hit stage musical and tells the story of a murderous barber.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street – to give it it’s full name - has already notched up Golden Globe nominations for best actor, actress, director and picture.

The film, which has been tipped for Oscar glory following its opening in the US, also features Alan Rickman, Ali G and Borat creator Sacha Baron Cohen and Timothy Spall.

The film will hit cinemas across the UK on January 26.
