Tim Burton says Johnny Depp’s singing in new movie Sweeney Todd exceeded his expectations.
He’s told AP: "I worry about a lot of things but I strangely did not fear that at all."
"He exceeded my expectation."
The 49-year-old director – who has had a string of hit movies including Batman, Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Family – also says his partner, Helena Bonham Carter, didn’t pressure on him to star in the movie… although she did get a key role in the end.
Tim explained: "She's been an actress for a long time. She gets the whole picture."
"She was very good about not over pressuring me because she knew I was probably putting that all on myself anyway."
Helena – who recently gave birth to their second child - has worked with Tim in several other films, including Planet of the Apes and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
