Things are looking up for Britney Spears - at least on the retail front.
In what could signal a reversal of fortune, the pop singer's Blackout album is selling better than record label bosses expected.
On its first day of release in the US, Blackout sold between 325,000 and 350,000 units – that’s better than the 300,000 units bosses projected.
Britney's last studio album, In the Zone, released in 2003, sold 2.96 million units.
The question now is whether sales will hold up.
