Britney's Holy Intervention

A church in a US city has got a new mission – to save Britney Spears.

The senior pastor of Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky - Jon Weece – has told his 8,000 strong congregation: "Take a few minutes and write a note to Britney Spears."

"No preaching. No criticizing. Just love. As a church, let's love Britney the way Jesus loves her." 

He added: "In the world's eyes, she's young, beautiful, talented, successful, yet her life is in shambles filled with bad relationships and devastating life choices."

"If she were your next-door neighbour in the same situation without the money and success, wouldn't you care about her problems? Wouldn't you pray for her and offer her support and encouragement?"

Britney has had a tough year after losing her two children to ex-husband Kevin Federline, their divorce and a spell in rehab after hitting the rails.
 
The singer is due to finds out whether a court will give her her two sons back. That ruling’s due later today.
