Mark's Got Lovely Bones

Mark Wahlberg’s joined the cast of The Lovely Bones – the big screen version of the smash hit novel.

He’ll replace Ryan Gosling in the role of Jack Salmon, the grieving father of a young girl.

The Half Nelson star pulled out of the role just one day before shooting was due to start.

Ryan apparently even gained 20 pounds and growing a beard for the job.

We’re not being told exactly why he left the project but according to US movie industry newspaper Variety, Ryan left due to creative differences

Apparently Mark said yes straight away after reading the script on Sunday. He was at work on Monday.
