Jack Ryan's Big Screen Return

Jack Ryan, the Tom Clancy-created CIA analyst character who drove four hit movies, is to return.

Alec Baldwin originated Ryan in The Hunt for Red October.

Harrison Ford played the character in Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger.

Ben Affleck played Ryan in The Sum of All Fears.

The new movie will be developed by Spider-Man director Sam Raimi. He’s also expected to direct it.

It’s expected the new movie will show Jack Ryan at an earlier stage in his career than in the previous movies, however it will also be set in present day where he’s facing a global threat.

Expect the finished movie to hit cinemas in summer 2010.
