How Romantic Are Our DJs?

With all the romance going on as it's Valentine's Day, We asked some of our DJs to tell us abit more about themselves to find out how romantic they really are, and also if Valentine's Day holds any particular memories for them.

When was your worst Valentine's day ever and why?
I was 18, my boyfriend had an interview at a nuclear power station so I went with him and spent the afternoon in the car park listening to Simply Red!

What's the worst Valentine's day present you've received?
Anything with a bear holding a balloon saying 'I wuv you'.

When was your best Valentine's day ever and why?
It was probably at school when I finally got a card from the guy I fancied at the boys school. I don't remember being very magnanamous about it!

Do you have any funny Valentine's day stories?
I was staying in a hotel with a boyfriend and he didn't think we were 'doing cards' and so had to fashion one out of the hotel stationary! Funny now, a bit hurtful at the time!

When was your worst Valentine's day ever and why?
The worst one was back in 2004. Me and my ex Emma split up the day before Valentine's Day, and I'd booked a trip to Paris for the weekend. Ended up missing out on a lovely candlelit dinner by The Eiffel Tower. Hey ho, stuff happens.

Do you still send Valentine's Day cards?
I'll send ONE this year......?

What would your idea of the perfect date be for Valentine's day?
I think the best Valentines evenings are the ones you do yourself, so you're not out surrounded by other couples. Better to have some privacy. turn out the lights, light a candle.....( to quote the Teddy Pendergrass tune)

When was your worst Valentine's day ever and why?
I must have been about 17, sending a card to a girl that I'd fancied for ages having already put in some impressive `wooing effort' prior to Valentines Day. Thought I'd be clever by sending the card initially to a friend who lived out of London for him to redirect it so the card would eventually arrive without the postmark giving me away. Tuned out that she knew someone from the town where the card was redirected, was convinced he'd sent it & rang me to tell me how excited she was - she'd fancied him for ages!

What would be your ideal Valentine's Day?
Charlotte, a perfectly chilled bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon & fish & chips on Embleton Sands in Northumberland. Bliss!

Do you still send Valentine's Day cards?
We do! And we leave silly notes for each other dotted around the house which we then sometimes forget about only to have them found at a later date by bemused friends.

When was your worst Valentine's day ever and why?
Last year my boyfriend at the time was in a different place to me, and called me to tell me he'd be spotted by one of my friends out somewhere fancy, with another woman who was a 'friend'! He said he was 'catching up with her', and didn't realise it was Valentines Day!

What's the worst Valentine's day present you've received?
A rose from a boy at school that I really didn't like and he did it really publicly and I was very embarassed!

Have you ever regretted sending a card to someone and why?
No, but aged 15 I thought it was a good idea to leave a lipstick kiss on the window of a boy's car, who I had a thing for instead.... that wasn't the best idea really!
