Fashion Preview 2008
The high street showcased their spring and summer 2008 collections in December while most people are thinking about what to buy people for Christmas rather than what they’d be wearing next year. Heart took a sneak peek at two major highstreet labels French Connection and H&M to see what the big fashion trends for 2008 will be and we’ve put together a guide for what’s hot in 2008.
Denim
Denim is big news this season and there are lots of new styles to choose from, so it's easy to find something that
suits your shape. Skinny jeans are still in, but so are wide leg, flared and 'the boyfriend' styles. Denim also features in other garments such as dresses, shits and jackets.
Volume
It's not a style that suits everyone, but clothes with volume are back. Think tulip skirts, puffed sleeves and tunic tops. The key is to choose one piece and build your look around it rather than try and wear too may pieces at once.
Bright Colours
Don't be shy, show your true colours with statement pieces in bright and bold colours. Canary yellow, electric blue and cherry red will all feature in clothes this season. Choose one colour and stick to it as mixing them up might be a bit much!
Tribal
There are plenty of tribal inspired garments around, featuring especially in beachwear in the form as kaftans and beach cover-up, perfect for complimenting your tan. If you're not brave enough to go for the bold and colourful patterns, dip into the trend with a piece of tribal jewellrey or accessories such as scarves and bags.
Futuristic Materials
The high street is bringing classic garments bang up to date by using modern fabrics which create a sporty and futuristic look.
