Bad news for Courtney Cox. The new series of her US TV show Dirt hasn’t done too well in the ratings.
The first episode of the drama’s second season, which stars the former Friends actress as a muckraking tabloid editor, pulled in an average of 1.7 million when it aired on Sunday.
3.7 million people tuned in for the first series premiere in January 2007.
Dirt will also see a shortened season this time around.
After the show's production was hit by the writers strike, US TV network FX opted not to produce more episodes beyond the seven that had already been completed.
