Chasing Pavements (Part 8!)

It’s not everyday I find myself at the cut & thrust sharp end of gym technology. And to be honest, yesterday was no different. These things have been around for ages now, often standing in a corner looking like some kind of spruced up industrial floor polisher. But now they’ve become a core part of my fitness programme. I’m just loving the `power-plate’.

powerplateGreat name `power plate’. Sounds like it could be one of the events in the new-look Gladiators or maybe some kind of high-energy recipe from Delia’s How To Cheat At Cooking. And of course, the power plate has its celebrity fans. Madonna was one of the first to get one – maybe I’ll now end up with arms like Popeye as well?! Charlotte Church swears by her power-plate, having used it to lose loooads of baby-weight since her pregnancy. And now it’s emerged that even Amy Winehouse has got one in her new place... mmm, maybe not such a great example.

I must admit to being a bit sceptical about the whole power-plate thing at first. I’d heard the stories that it could give a good all-round workout in a just a few minutes & thought this sounding a bit like cheating. Then I thought…hang on a minute, that’s brilliant!! And with the Marathon less than five weeks away, it’s really helping with stretching my dodgy right calf.

So, with the big event drawing ever closer & me once again desperately trying to nurse my achy legs to that start line in Greenwich in April, I’m saying...

All power to the plate!

Big love as always

Gx
