Dilemma. Dilemma. Dilemma….
Okay, so like all the other 40,000 runners gearing up for next weekend’s London Marathon, I’ve been spending the last couple of days tackling head-first the high-impact training challenge that is “tapering off”. (See photo – looks tough doesn’t it?!)

Now this is one part of the loooooong pre-Marathon programme which you just don’t want to mess with. Fab excuse for getting out of the housework too…”sorry, can’t get up from the sofa, I’m busy training!” Oh how Mrs G laughs…
But this weekend, I face a tricky dilemma. For the first time in my life ever, ever, ever, my little footie team Portsmouth have made it to Wembley. And I’ve got tickets. There’s no way I ‘m not going... we’re just two matches away from a place in Europe (and let’s be honest the closest we’ve been before are pre-season matches on the Isle of Wight!). Granted I’ve got a SEAT, but I just know with a buzzing atmosphere inside the stadium we’ll be jumping up & down screaming our little hearts out expending loooooads of energy. And I’m supposed to be loafing!!
Then straight after the football it’s the Grand National, another big event that’s so hard not to get swept away by. My heartbeat’s going to be racing!
So, how to enjoy both of these crown jewels of sport and yet still stay in a zen-like state of relaxation & calm? Mmmmmm any ideas?.........Me neither.
I guess the loafing will just have to wait another day. Think I might go & check out a day spa somewhere to make up for the lost time. And as Mrs G seems to have picked a horse called “Slim Pickings” in her Grand National sweepstake (the omens can’t be great for a horse with a name like that) looks like I’ll be picking up the tab too!
Have a brilliant weekend….wrap up cos snow could be on the way (it’s only APRIL after all!) & if you’re not yet sorted with your own workplace Grand National sweepstake, download the one we’ve prepared for you right here.
Big love
Gxx
