Diary of a Bad Mother

3 days at home, and the great unnamed one has a name. Laura. Night one at home neither of us slept much as she snuffled and wailed and fed pretty much all night so I’ve decided I will be moving to the sofa…there is no way John can go to work feeling like this.

So the high point of the moment is that I can eat again as there is once more room in my belly for food. The other high point is that when breast feeding you can eat for England. Breast feeding so far going well. Although she is kind of hungry and am not sure she’s taking enough at each feed. Mum tells me that when we were babies they had scales and they weighed the baby before and after feeding to see how much they had taken. I need scales! Or a milk gauge on my boob…

Low point is trying to keep a 17 monther amused when feeding the babe. He is head planting off the sofa while I’m feeding / expressing etc, and I can’t get him interested in the TV. Time to get a playpen …
