Where's my travel plug gone?

There was that thing in one of the papers today about the things we all miss most when we're on holiday abroad.

I think the top two were, Branston Pickle and The Health Service (how British is that)! Love it.

I'm off for a couple of days skiing on Thursday, and I'll be honest, I'm not losing sleep over the pickle thing, and apparently Swiss health care is pretty good (touch wood I don't need to use it).

But there is one thing that I can never work out when I'm packing to go away. Where the hell is that travel plug I bought last time I went on holiday! Every time, I have to buy a new one at the airport. It's like the vanishing socks... where the hell do they go! Why can't all plugs in the wall be the same as our English ones? A Euro plug perhaps. Then again, we'd probably opt out of that too!

The other thing about being at a hotel in Europe, at breakfast. When they serve you a continental one. rolls, bread, croissants, (cold meats and cheese, but who wants that first thing?!) and those little pots of jam. Except they never seem to have strawberry or raspberry. Always only seems to be a pot of apricot jam left. Or Red current jelly.  Urgghh! And they never seem to have toast. The butter tastes funny, so does the milk, where are the Frosties,  no PG Tips.....ok, i'll stop moaning.

In the scheme of things, not too much to put up with when you're on your hols. All part of the experience.
