Proud to be British

So what did you think of the Pride Of Britain Awards last night? Great weren't they. It makes you feel proud to be British. It was amazing to be there on Tuesday night. Everyone in the room was humbled by so many incredible people and their remarkable achievements. Michael Caine, who was sitting quite close to us and he looked completely overwhelmed at the whole thing. Very emotional. And what a fabulous speech he made when he handed the award to that soldier who jumped on a grenade in Afghanistan and saved three Royal Marines. Very moving. You could see how touched he was. The perfect person to be doing that award being such a British icon himself. Russell Brand who's becoming a British icon very quickly himself was superb. Not surprisingly in his element whilst surounded by a bevy of ladies in their bras! Great event.

And then it's back down to earth with a bump, and more chaos in the financial markets. It just won't end. It's really depressing. I wish the papers could start printing some good news stories or something, just to detract from what's going on. The Sun amuse me, they are actually doing their best by putting little jokes on every page. Which is a nice idea. Although the laughter very quickly dies away when you read the next story about a "bloodbath in the city."  It never ends.

So can someone tell me why I keep getting sent application forms for new credit cards??  Every other day I get one through. What's that all about? The world's run out of credit, how can they so freely be offering us any more?
