Toby Anstis' Blog

A summer's evening, you get home from work, pour yourself a glass of ice cold beer or wine, toss some bangers on the barbie. (spoken with a poor Ozzie accent).....is there anything better?!

And the garden suddenly becomes another room on the side of the house. Brilliant! Never had this luxury before, and  hope the novelty value and sheer happines it brings stays for a while. Having the French windows wide open at 9 in the evening, it's lovely isn't it. But still you hear people complaining. " Oh, it's a bit too hot."   SHUT UP!  How often do we get weather like this.

You have to embrace it. The weekend's going to be spot on as well which is rather good news. Only thing about the sunshine, can't blimin well tell if a London taxi has got its amber "for hire" light on. It's impossible to tell until it's on the way past you. Nightmare! They should make them like a bright red or something instead. Just my little tip of the day there.

As I write this, that awesome smell of food cooking on the barbeque is wofting  through the house. I'm doing everyone sausages, salmon kebabs, salad and new potatoes tonight. Couple of friends heading over for a bit of dinner. I just need to unpack the flat pack table I just bought from B n Q, and pop the parasol up, and we're ready. I've got some of those long bamboo garden candles aswell. Haven't yet got outside light, so I thought candles would be a nice touch. Oh yes, and one last thing.... I couldn't resist buying it. A PADDLING pool!!  How cool is that. Only a small one. £2.99. Bargain. Not ideal for a doing lengths, but handy for a quick foot splash!

Right then, better go and turn the sausages before they burn.

Have a really good day!

Toby
