Toby Anstis' Blog

Ill days and videos

Think I've lost a few pounds in the last 24 hours!

Had this sick bug thing, which as I suggested in the blog yesterday, may have come from the mice running around the work surfaces in the kitchen (don't go urrgghh... had the pest control guy in. No sign of mice for two days now), but now I think about it, think it could have been from some eggs I ate on Wednesday morning. Looked on the box today and realised they were a day over the use by date when I had them. That'll be it then!

What a stupid thing to go and do. I remember doing the same thing at uni years ago. In digs, on a massive overdraft, couldn't afford too much. Ended up eating some sausages that were two days after use by date. Well, I was hungry and poor and thought if you cooked them long enough, the bacteria would be killed off. How naive can a student be? That said, that's been my argument FOR those hot dogs you get from those street trolleys in town late at night. They might be old bangers, but they stay on the stove for hours! Must be ok then??! Still, ended up missing a week's worth of lectures because of them old sausages.

Anyway, hate being off work. Doesn't happen often (touch wood). Just get bored. You can only endure so much daytime TV and Facebook nonsense. So I dug out an old copy of Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom on VIDEO! Haven't got the DVD of that one yet. Transferred all the others, but not Indiana. With the excitment of the forthcoming new one, felt like going back in time to when Harrison Ford did his own stunts and didn't have his ears pierced!

Nice thinking, but when it came to watching it, oh my god, not only is the picture quality rubbish, but also you can't scene jump, or see what your fast forwarding to. It's on tape! Oh no! How 1980s!  Everything takes ages. How we all take the DVD for granted now. Stopped it, and watched all my Lee Evans Live DVDs instead. Love that guy. So funny. Sweats a lot, but hilarious.

Think my videos are all their way to the car boot sale!
