Hope you had a good weekend.

After the early, VERY early, mornings last week covering for Jamie on Heart Breakfast, I couldn't wait to get out on Saturday night! I've been going to bed at 9 o'clock every night for 6 days, so I was ready for a good night out with friends. I ended up at this club called Bungalow 8 in the basement of St Martins Lane Hotel. A bit swish. And a bit expensive too!

Sat in the bar, 4 of us, then I get this tap on the shoulder...."Hi Tobe"..... and it's Ant and Dec on a mate's stag do! How bizarre. I've known them since they did "Ooh Byker, Grove!". They're top blokes. As friendly and down to earth as they are on tv.

Anyway, went downstairs to the club bit. Popped off to text someone. Came back and my friend Johnny boy (who's a tad merry) says excitedly "I just had a chat with Dec."
"Great. Nice chap isn't he. What did you say to him?"  "I just said he was really good on tv, and thought he'd be taller in real life."

Oh blimy, knew I shoudn't have left him on his own. How many times must Dec have heard something like that!

What do you say to that....?!  "Sorry i've disappointed you. I'll try and be taller next time..."

Actually come to think of it, thats not a bad one.

Think the funniest one i've ever been on the receiving end of was at some gig in Newcastle a few years ago......

"Hey, didn't you used to be Toby Anstis?"

Still am thanks. Bye.
