Can't believe it....another shocker in my garden! 

You know last week I was telling you about how something had run up and down my flower beds, and totally flattened all the daffs. Then had clearly killed an unsuspecting bird of some description and left a ring of white feathers. That was bizarre enough. Still I never got to the bottom of that one either. One of life's little mysteries.

What isn't though, is the Magpie nest which has just appeared at the top of the big tree at the bottom of my garden, nestled about 30 feet up, kind of over looking my bathroom. Now you might think, that's alright, how could that be a problem. Just wildlife doing its thing. BUT NO, not, if like me you are possessed with a all consuming magpie superstition! One for sorrow, two for joy.....bla bla.

Nightmare. Bad enough when I see one on its own driving down the road, have to stop and see another one, or feel at a loose end. Ridiculous I know. And now, it's obviously father magpie who keeps watch on top of the tree or who flies down to my bird feeders to fetch breakfast, lunch and supper, just when i'm looking out of the window! It's there ALL the time. This could be a year of continuous bad luck! It's not funny.

I do laugh at myself, sat working at the table, looking out on the garden, saluting these birds every 10 minutes! " Morning Mr Magpie, hope your children are well."  Daft isn't it. I mean, when are they going to enjoy some good couple time together perched up in the tree, and give me some good luck for a change, instead of me always just seeing the one?

Was lovely seeing snow on the lawn today. Did you have loads where you live? It was snowing for a good couple of hours this morning in Hammersmith. Not quite enough for a snow ball fight, but enough to smile about.
