Pleasure and Pain

So I'm walking slightly strangly today having spent two hours last night doing Parkour - created by the French and otherwise known as freerunning. To explain what Parkour is, I'll use Wikipedia's definition: "to move from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using the abilities of the human body".

Since November I have been trying to to do just that, however my interpretation is to jump over things rather eratically, often falling off them and expressing myself in ways I'd never do on air!!

It's brilliant though and I highly recommend it - you're in a sports hall clambering over horse / beams etc, so if you liked gymnastics at school and you're up for a tough work out but don't want to be in the gym then Parkour really is a must. You may question why bother, well when you see the guys and girls who are really good at it, you are just blown away by how they move over things.  If you're finding it hard to imagine, think of the opening scene from Casino Royal where Mr. Craig is chasing the guy across the building site and up the crane... yes?... that is parkour. Fancy a challenge - check out  www.parkourgenerations.com you'll be impressed i promise.

Now despite my stiff limbs today, I have discovered something amazing which has given me so much pleasure... Salad Bags!! No not the kind you buy from the supermarket... I'm talking bags which you can keep your salad in once you've bought it.

Stay with me, this is good.

Some clever people in Denmark have made these plastic bags which you put your salad leaves in from a whole salad, fill with water, then twist around and as you let the bags untwist the water drains automatically into a reservoir at the bottom of the bag which you then pour out. Voila - leaving you with washed lettuce that's not sopping wet that you can have in your fridge for days... and those salad bags you buy are BAD for the environment and go off before you've even got them home!

So what do you think - Genius!!
I'm not sad really, it's the simple things that make me smile though...

Until next time
