Do you have a list of things you want to do.. place you want to go before you die .... Well I managed to tick on off my list earlier this week and I'm feeling rather cultured, as I visited the famous Globe Theatre to see a Midsummer Night's Dream. Whether you studied the Bard at school or not the fact that we have the amazing playright in our history is definately something to be celebrated and it's such an experience that the whole family can enjoy. Sitting in the amazing theatre - and yes we had seats but you can stand for a fiver... imagining a time before TV, Movies, Internet - when this kind of theatre was your entertainment... it was just fantastic. You need a cushion though as despite having a padden derrier the wooden seats were still hard. I admit, you certainly have to let yourself relax into the old english but the production was so colouful and fun and highly recommended.
My cultural week continued going to the Hackney Empire - another first to see Beau Jest which is a Jewish rom-com about a girl who keeps falling for non-jewish guys and pretends she's found the ideal man, as far as her parents are concerned but the lie gets out of hand. Another treat for the family, with lots of laughs and lovely sentiment..
So it's been a busy time for me and there's more to come as there's so much to see.
I'll keep you posted.
Enjoy the bank holiday
