I’ve been like the littlest Hobo recently. I had a couple of child free nights on Tuesday and Wednesday and thought I would put them to good use by catching up and staying with some friends that I haven’t seen for a while in West London.
Tuesday I spent eating pizza, drinking wine and watching football.. well, pretending to watch anyway and had such a lovely evening. Then on Wednesday I spent it with my friend Dawn and she cooked us the most succulent roast lamb I have ever eaten. So I did very well in the food and fun stakes.
However, I stupidly forgot toothpaste! Don’t you hate that? Toothpaste to me is THE most important product of the day and night. The first night, I just used my mate's - some sensitive teeth stuff that has no mintyness, if that’s a word, and was like brushing my teeth with some kind of paste used for DIY. But beggars can not be choosers, as my mother constantly reminded me as a child, so I just dealt with it.
I had such a busy day on Thursday that I totally forgot to go and buy my very own ‘super minty make your mouth feel all clean’ toothpaste, and so when it came to bed time I went to my very own guest bathroom and realised I was in the same predicament as the night before. I had a little search around under the sink for some and came across this tube that looked like toothpaste with Japanese writing all over it...
Now what would you have done? Would you have:
a) Gone to bed with a roast lamb and red wine mouth?
or
b) Decided that even though the toothpaste-looking tube is in Japanese, just go for it and hope for the best?
I went for B! And boy did I regret it! OH MY GOD! It was the worst thing I have EVER had in my mouth and my taste buds were not impressed with my brain's decision. I can only describe it as a really salty, polyfilla paste... VILE!!
However on a plus side my teeth were amazingly smooth after... and yes I did use it again the following morning, although why I actually have no idea!
Thinking about it, I haven’t asked Dawn if it is actually toothpaste... hmmm!!
Well that was the excitement of my week, have a great weekend and my advice this weekend it to avoid putting things in your mouth that you have no idea what they actually are...
