Don't Laugh, but I'm Bathophobic

See my holiday snaps here!

I have been back in the country for four days now and I have only just got over my little excursion. You need a holiday to get over a holiday… although technically it wasn’t a holiday it was WORK! You know IF you get that call asking if you are available to go to BARBADOS for five days, there really is only one answer!!

I jetted off on Sat last week, the flight was only eight hours, which just flew by (excuse the pun), and arrived to 30 degrees of lovely warm sunshine. The hotel was amazing and the view from my hotel balcony was the beach with the crystal clear blue waters lapping the shore.

Abbie Barbados dinner I spent the first night doing some work and once that was out of the way, my work colleague Dan and I set out to taste the traditional island source.. Rum Punch. Mmmm nice but seriously deadly. Lets just say I slept very well that night!

The stay on the island was full of trips to different destinations. We met a lovely man call Rob who runs a speed boat company, Elite, and he took us out for a spin in his boat. I felt like J-Lo (but without the babies).

I went swimming with turtles, which was probably the best thing I have EVER done and snorkelling with Nemos, although I found looking down to the bottom of the sea, which was about 20 feet down, and seeing an old wreck at the bottom , really disorientating . I told Dan and Rob that I thought I had vertigo. After they pulled themselves together and stopped laughing at me, they decided that I have a fear of depths, which they then found even funnier and constantly took the pee out of me for the rest of my stay… I am sure that there must be a name for that, surely?!

Right just looked it up on the net and its called... wait for it… Bathophobia, which means someone who has a fear of depths, even though they realise they are safe from falling… Mwahahahaha in your face boys, I’m not a loon, I am Bathophobic!!

Abbie Barbados beach Being in Barbados didn’t seem to take my clumsiness away, one day I was walking to the beach and a man on a moped, whom might I add had a football shirt on with the name Deirdre on the back, parped , (I say parped, because his beeper was so rubbish is sounded like parping), at me to move. As I turned to see what, why and where the parping was coming from, I managed to completely miss seeing this huge tree that was rooted in front of me, so as I turned back, I smacked into its lowest branch with full force, right on my noddle!! OUCH!

Deirdre, the man on the moped, however nearly fell off his bike with hysteria. Glad to be of some comedy value dude!!

Then only two days later I did the same bloomin’ thing, however there was no Deirdre on his bike, I just walked straight into it… yeah, say no more!!

I had the most amazing time on the island and can’t wait to go back. If you get the chance to win one of the five all inclusive holidays to Barbados this week on Heart Breakfast with the lovely Jamie and even lovelier Harriet… Take Me!!!

Over and Out... Eastwood xx
