Have you checked out our Showbiz pages recently?
There is some juicy gossip all about what to expect at the cinema this summer. Some cracking looking films - a new X files one, the latest Narnia flick Prince Caspian and the next instalment of the Batman franchise with the excellent Christian Bale (one of my favourite actors) in The Dark Knight.
I also couldnt help notice the stories about a film version of Fraggle Rock(!) and the A-team which are both huge TV programmes from the eighties. What with The Dukes Of Hazzard getting the Hollywood treatment a few years back i'm thinking there may be a trend going on here. I was talking about this on the show last night and I then got a text from Beth who suggested there should be a Baywatch film (ok mainly a nineties programme but it did start at the end of the eighties if my memory serves me correct). What a great idea!? Though it would have to be like the original beach version of the show none of that Baywatch Nights nonsense (do you remember that?) It got me thinking though, what other TV shows from the eighties would you like to see turned into films?
I think Dallas is in the pipeline, a film version of Knight Rider has been made for TV… How about Quantum Leap? Or The Cosby Show?! (OK maybe not that…). What about UK shows… maybe someone could do a film version of Poirot, a Blackadder one could work or do you know what i'd really like to see… Rod Hull and the Pink Windmill on the bigscreen! I believe the late Mr. Hulls son is continuing his dads fine work and I bet Grotbags could do with a few bob! Ill see if I can come up with a plot line, hold on theres somebody at the door… (sorry).
Speaking of the eighties do join me for the best variety of tunes from that decade as we do Absolutely 80s weeknights at 8pm and Sundays for three hours from 7pm.
