It’s just after half 4 - I’m sat in the Heart office with that sense of a bit-too-much-in-the-sun-tiredness but you know what… it feels good!!
So, how was your Bank Holiday weekend? Felt like it lasted ages or not long enough?
I went to Brighton for the first time ever on Saturday. Everyone I know seems to have gone there at some point and I was the last one in on the open secret. It was a complete British seaside jaunt in one day. Fish ‘n’ Chips on the pebbly beach, strolling along the pier, chucking away 2 pence pieces in those moving shelf arcade ‘games’ and doing a round of 18 on the nearby crazy golf course!
I’d forgotten how great crazy golf was, even if my score was a ridiculously rubbish 49! They should turn it into an Olympic sport. It could potentially be the fairest of them all. I don’t believe that anyone using performance enhancing drugs would do better because there’s as much skill as there is luck involved in a good course.
In Brighton, I also had my first Pimms of the summer (don’t you know…) whoever invented that drink deserves a medal. It’s great as it is; but sticking in mint, orange, lemon, strawberry and cucumber just makes it even better (and gives you something to nibble on while you wait for the chips to arrive). Imagine Mr. Pimms doing that for the first time if you will. His mates must have given him some strange looks at first and now it’s by far the best summer drink of them all. Fact.
Feel free to disagree if you like (I’d like to see you try and fight the Magners corner..!)
Don’t forget the evening show tonight from 7, with a whole hour of Absolutely 80s at 8.
