What's it about? It’s based on Mariane Pearl's account of the kidnap and murder of her US journalist husband, Daniel.
What type of film is it? Drama
Is it any good? It seems a little cruel to say that a film based on such a terrible tragedy is disappointing, but it is. Although her performance was great, Angelina Jolie doesn’t really convince and the whole thing smacks a bit of “star power”. Great direction but I couldn’t help feel it would have been much better as a Channel 4 docu-rama. It’s a shame as this could have been award-winning stuff.
